Historically Type 2 diabetes was assumed to be irreversible. Only in the last ten years has it become clearer that it is possible to slow progression of the condition. For some it has also been possible to stop treatment – to achieve remission.
In this public lecture from February 2020, Dr Emma Baldry, Senior Clinical Research Dietitian at the University of Leicester, discusses the research that has been published and highlights the most influential studies. She examines the background to Type 2 diabetes remission and discusses if remission is feasible for all.
