Excessive screen-time (use of TVs, computers, tablets) and unhealthy eating are increasingly common behaviours in children and adolescents. These behaviours often co-occur and cluster in young people (for example high screen users are also likely to have unhealthy eating behaviours) and can pose a significant health risk.
In this public lecture from May 2018 Dr Natalie Pearson, Research Associate in Child Development at Loughborough University, explores effective ways to reduce these behaviours. She also discusses recent changes in the way young people use screens and how we can promote more constructive use of screens.
