This public lecture was delivered by Dr Claire Madigan, Senior Research Associate in the Centre for Lifestyle Medicine and Behaviour, School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, Loughborough University on Thursday 2nd March at 5:30pm.
In this talk, Dr Claire Madigan discussed the importance of weight management interventions as well as the opportunities to intervene for weight gain prevention, weight loss and weight loss maintenance. The talk featured successful case studies of patient intervention and how others can implement weight management into their sector of the NHS.
Dr Claire Madigan is a Senior Research Associate in the Centre for Lifestyle Medicine and Behaviour (CLiMB). Prior to her academic career, Dr Madigan worked in public health, commissioning weight management services and working on the childhood obesity strategy in Hampshire. Upon completion of a PhD, she held positions at the University of Sydney and University of Oxford. Claire has expertise in weight management and clinical trial management (led, set up and managed over 15 trials) with experience in behavioural and investigational medicinal trials. Her research focuses on weight management interventions embedded within NHS pathways and public health systems. |
