Being physically inactive or leading a sedentary lifestyle may increase the risk of developing some cancers such as breast and colon cancer. Being physically active may not only help prevent the risk of these cancer but can also help with recovery when undergoing treatment for cancer.
In this public lecture from March 2020 Dr Fehmidah Munir discussed the most influential studies in this area. She explored which cancers have been linked to physical inactivity and how exercise helps to reduce the risk.
