Loughborough University is looking for participants for a study testing the reliability and validity of wearable technology for implementation in the military.
A large proportion of recruits suffer from musculoskeletal injury during current military phase one training. To prevent this, proper use of wearable technology could help advise the cause of injury. However its reliability and validity must be proven before it can be implemented into the military environment.
Who are we looking for?
- Males and females aged 18-30
- Able to run 1.5 miles under 12 minutes 45 seconds
What will I be asked to do?
Attend three lab sessions at the NCSEM-EM.
How long will it take?
Each lab session will take a maximum of 90 minutes. During each session you will be required to perform a variety of activities likely performed in military training (eg marching, drill, walking, running). A wearable accelerometer will be placed on the leg while these activities are performed.
Participant benefits
- In-depth analysis into loading characteristics for a range of different activities
- Contributing to doctoral research
