About Dr Paul Sanderson
Paul spent over 30 years in the British Army, initially joining the Royal Engineers before transferring to the elite Royal Army Physical Training Corps in 1992. Subsequently Paul passed the Joint Services Exercise Rehabilitation Instructors Course in 1997 and moved to the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) Headley Court. Paul took voluntary retirement in 2014 to concentrate on his academic ambitions.
Whilst still in the British Army, Paul completed his first degree in Sports Science and Sport Rehabilitation at St Mary’s University College in 2002, before completing a masters in Physical Activity and Health in 2008 and a PhD in 2014, both at Loughborough University.
Paul’s principle research interests lie in the field of musculoskeletal injury and how physical activity and health behaviors affect injury risk.
