Activity Alliance research shows disabled people do not have the same opportunities to work or volunteer in sport and physical activity. Only 22% of disabled people say they see ‘people like me’ working in roles in the sector.
Not only should disabled people have the same opportunity to work in sport and physical activity, but research tells us that more than eight in ten disabled customers have taken their business elsewhere after experiencing poor customer care.
Many disabled people are therefore missing out on the benefits being active can bring. Equally organisations are missing out on the numerous benefits that disabled customers can offer as a large proportion of our population.
