Applications for the next cohort of the Leicestershire Healthcare Inequalities Improvement Doctoral Training Programme (LHIIP) are now open. This Wellcome Trust funded doctoral training programme is aimed at AHPs, nurses, midwives, GPs and doctors in training to become clinical academics. This prestigious PhD programme will look to address the unique health issues faced by Leicester and Leicestershire’s ethnically and culturally diverse population, recently amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thanks to funding from the Wellcome Trust, the programme is offering funding opportunities for 25 Research Fellows over five years, which will provide nurses, midwives, allied health professionals and doctors with the chance to pursue academic research.
This fully-funded, salary-matching opportunity offers applicants a chance to be seconded from their substantive post to complete a 3-year PhD focussing on healthcare inequalities.
Applications are open now with a deadline of 31 January 2024. This is for a programme start date of 1 October 2024.
