Academics at Loughborough University’s School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences are looking for volunteers to help with a study looking at the influence of repeated biopsies on inflammatory responses in adipose tissue.
The team is looking for participants who are:
- A healthy, non-smoking man or woman, aged between 20-50 years with Body Mass Index (BMI) <40 kg/m2
- Carry more weight than you like around your waist (waist circumference: ≥94cm/≥90cm (men/Asian men) and ≥80cm (women))
You will be invited to complete a one-hour screening visit (after a 12-hour overnight fast), a 30-minute familiarisation visit and one four-hour study visit (after a 12-hour overnight fast).
During your study visit you will be asked to fast and undergo:
- Body composition assessment
- One blood sample
- Three abdominal fat (adipose) biopsy samples
You will be reimbursed for your time.
