The Arthritis Research UK Centre for Sport, Exercise and Osteoarthritis and the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine England will be holding a joint conference this Decemeber at Loughborough University.
The conference will offer opportunities for researchers in the field of physical activity and osteoarthritis research to meet, present and discuss their work, with key themes including:
- Physical activity promotion
- Physical activity and musculoskeletal health
- Exercise and osteoarthritis
- Injury consequence
- Reducing risk of injury
- Rehabilitation
The conference aims to raise awareness of musculoskeletal health as a lever for individual and population health and wellness. It will explore the relationship between physical activity (of all types), joint pain and osteoarthritis, looking specifically at:
- National physical activity guidance and barriers/levers to uptake
- Physical activity, exercise, sport and osteoarthritis
- Physical activity interventions for arthritis
- Sport and injury prevention and health promotion
